Limited Edition: Jarosite

An amber yellow to dark brown crystalline iron sulfite mineral. Jarosite was formally identified in 1852 by German mineralogist August Breithaupt and named for the Barranco Jaroso area in Southern Spain where it was first found. Jarosite was also detected by exploration rover Opportunity on Mars in 2004. This discovery supports the possibility of water once existing on Mars!

Handmade in our shop using the highest quality earth pigment and natural watercolor binding medium made from gum arabic (sap from acacia trees,) honey, glycerine and distilled water.
